2 to 3 lb. Whole Chicken
2 tsp. Dried Oregano
2 tsp. Garlic Powder
2 tbsp. Onion Powder
2 tsp. Paprika
2 tsp. Ground Ginger
2 tsp. Ground Sage
1 tsp. Salt
1 tbsp. Pepper
1 12 oz. Can Beer
4 Cloves Garlic Minced
7 to 9 Slices Bacon

Preheat oven to 450. Rinse the chicken and pat dry with paper towels.

Combine the oregano, garlic, onion powders, paprika, ginger, sage, salt, and pepper in small bowl. Rub half of the spice mix inside the cavity of the chicken. Rub other half on the chicken under the skin.

Open the beer and pour out 1/2 c. Drop the garlic into the can. Place chicken over the beer can and into large oven safe skillet. Place 2 to 3 bacon slices in the top neck cavity of the chicken and drape the remaining 5 or 6 around the outside of the chicken.

Roast the chicken for 10 min. Lower the temp. t 325 and roast for 1 hr. or until thermometer registers at 165.

Let rest for 5 to 10 min. Remove bacon and serve the chicken whole, shredded, or cut into portions.
