Two links, (1Lb.-ish) Chouriço diced

A large onion diced

3-4 large carrots diced

3 long stalks of cerery guess how…DICED!

2-3 large potatoes - don’t tell me let me guess peeled and…. DICED? Yes, but also,

parboiled and rinsed

BASTANTE ajo, como 5 dientes - picados

1 15-16 oz can of Red Kidney beans (rinsed) (habas rojas)

Kale 1-2 lbs fresh or you can get a 1 lb packet or two frozen

8 cups (mínimo) Chicken broth (caldo)

Olive oil and bay leaf (I never understood the reason for bay leaf, so if you leaf it out,

Dad won’t mind!)

½ tsp paprika

chile (mamacita) , s + p to taste

Sautee the onion with the chouriço in the olive oil and spices

Add the caldo, bay leaf carrots, celery.

Bring to boil and let simmer for 15 min.

Add kale, bring to a light boil, simmer another 15 min.

Add potatoes, kidneys simmer oh, maybe about 15 min and serve with favorite

Portuguese bread.
