Directions:
Peel as many medium sized white turnips as required (one per person for serving). Cut slice from the bottom to stand up right and boil in salted water until tender. With a spoon scrape out the inside, leaving a ¼ inch wall of turnip. Mix with the scraped turnip a little cream, salt and pepper and fill cups with this mixture.

Put in dish. Then make a white sauce and pour over turnips. (A basic white sauce can be made by melting 2 tbsp. butter in a fry pan, whisking in 2 tbsp. flour and a little salt and pepper, and then gently adding 1 cup milk, stirring over medium heat until thickened). Sprinkle with bread crumbs. Dot with bits of butter. Let brown in oven.

Personal Notes:
If you prefer you can fill the cups with creamed peas. Serve one to each person.
