Ingredients: 2 TBSP olive oil 2 TBSP butter 1 Large onion chopped 1 Jar of sliced mushrooms 1 Pkg of beef cubed steak (about 6 cube steaks.) 6 Beef bullion cubes 1Pkg Lipton Onion Soup Mix Water to cover ingredients in pot
Then: 2 c Sour cream 4 TBSP Flour 3 TBSP Caraway seeds

Directions:Add olive oil and butter to large pot (I use a Dutch Oven). Add chopped onion. Add mushrooms. Cut cube steaks into 1" squares or strips. Add cube steak to pot. Add beef bullion cubes. Add Lipton Onion Soup Mix. Add water to cover ingredients in the pot.
Simmer very low for at least an hour. (The longer you simmer the meat the more tender it becomes.) Once the meat is tender, to your liking, add about 1 cup of sour cream. To the remaining sour cream add the flour and caraway seeds. Stir until combined. (You may need to add a small amount of juice from the pot to get the flour and sour cream to combine.) Then add that mixture to the pot. Cover and simmer to meld the flavors together about another hour . Simmer very low and occasionally stir to keep from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
Serve over rice or wide egg noodles. |

Notes: This is a favorite recipe of mine since I was a teenager. At first I wasn't a fan of sour cream but this recipe quickly changed my mind. I love the wonderful aroma that fills the house. And it's a great dish to enjoy on a nice cool Fall or Winter day, but regardless of the weather outside I LOVE this dish anytime.
