4 Tbs. butter
½ cup brown sugar
Nutmeg
5 to 6 large plums

4 Tbs. butter
½ cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup flour
¼ cup corn meal
1 tsp.baking powder
½ cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Melt butter in a glass pie plate in microwave or oven; add brown sugar and nutmeg. Arrange halved plums (skin side down) around pie plate.

Sift together flour, baking powder and corn meal. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs. Stir in flour mixture and milk all at once. Do not overbeat. Pour batter over fruit.

Bake at 350º for about 30 minutes.

Let stand on wire rack for a couple of minutes after baking then invert on a plate to cool.

You can substitute any kind of fruit for the plums, even canned fruit, i.e., pineapple, etc.
