4 lbs. tart apples
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. ground cloves
4 c. apple juice
1 tsp. ground cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Peel and core apples, cut into chunks. Cover with water in saucepan and boil slowly for 20-30 minutes. Drain and put in slow cooker. Add apple juice and spices. Stir. Cook on high for 3-5 hours, stirring often. After 3 hours you will have apple sauce. After another 2 hours you will have apple butter. The longer you cook-the better it will be.
