½ cup Crisco shortening
½ cup butter

OR:

¾ cup Crisco shortening
¼ cup butter

½ tsp vanilla extract
½ almond extract
1 lb (4 cups) powdered sugar
2 - 3 Tbsp milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the butter and shortening with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add vanilla & almond extracts. Gradually add powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating well with each addition. Scrape sides and bottom of bowl often. When all sugar has been added icing will be dry. Add milk a little at a time & beat at medium speed until light and fluffy and desired consistency is reached.

Use 1 tsp vanilla extract instead of 1/2 tsp vanilla and 1/2 tsp almond if you are serving to anyone with nut allergies.
