Buttermilk Pie Recipe

½ cup flour
3 ¾ cups sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp vanilla
1 cup melted oleo
1 cup buttermilk
6 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º 2 large unbaked pie shells or 3 small


Blend flour, sugar, salt, oleo and buttermilk in mixer on low speed.

Add eggs, one at a time, on low speed.

Fold in vanilla.

Pour into unbaked pie shells. Bake at 350º for 30 to 35 minutes or until center is set.

Another recipe that at least two fo my grandchildren request for holiday dessert is this Buttermilk Pie. My recipe was given to me by a friend, Joanne Lay, who had a friend that worked for Luby's Cafeteria. Supposedly this recipe was essentially Luby's recipe for Buttermilk Pie.
