3/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup icing sugar, sifted
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract, or scrapings of 1/2 vanilla bean
1/8 tsp salt
1 cup flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
24 glace cherry halves

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º F. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and salt; mix well. Sift together flour and cornstarch and add to the creamed mixture. Blend well. Form dough into 1" balls and place on a parchment-lined cookie sheet 2" apart. Flatten each ball with a fork and place 1/2 a glace cherry on top of each cookie.
Bake for 10-12 mins, or until the edges just start to turn very light golden.
makes 2 dozen.
