Ingredients For the strawberries:
1 pint fresh strawberries tops removed and sliced
3 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
For the filling:
1 8 oz package cream cheese softened to room temperature
½ cup sifted powdered sugar
2 tsp strawberry preserves melted
1 package of lady fingers
¼ cup orange juice
For the topping:
1 16 oz (large) container COOL WHIP thawed, divided use
2 tsp strawberry extract
sliced strawberries or cocoa powder for topping

1. For the strawberries:
2. In a large bowl, add sliced strawberries, granulated sugar and lemon juice. Gently stir and set aside until juices develop.
3. For the filling:
4. In a large bowl combine the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and the melted strawberry preserves; beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until blended and smooth.
Stir in 1 cup of the whipped dessert topping. Set aside.
5. Place ladyfingers in a small bowl and drizzle with orange juice.

7. In another bowl whisk together the rest of the whipped topping with strawberry extract. Set aside.
8. To assemble: 9. Spread half the cream cheese filling into the bottom of a 9x9 or 11x7 baking dish. Follow with a layer of half the lady fingers.
Then add half the strawberries (with some juice) on top of lady fingers
. Next, spread half the strawberry¬flavored whipped topping on top of strawberries.
10. Repeat the steps again.
11. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight or of at least 6 hours
. Recipe Notes Top with fresh sliced strawberries before serving or dust with cocoa powder
