2¼ cup all purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
¾ cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 Tablespoon milk
1 teapoon vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup chopped dates
½ cup chopped maraschino cherries
3½ cups corn flake crumbs

Mix flour, soda, salt and baking powder together in bowl.
in separate bowl beat sugar and shortening together. Beat in eggs, milk and vanilla. Blend in flour mixture. Add pecans, dates and ½ cup chopped maraschino cherries. Mix well and form into balls using teaspoonful. Roll each ball into cornflake crumbs. Place on lightly greased cookie pan. Slightly press in center and place ¼ to ½ Maraschino cherry. Bake at 350º for 10-12 minutes.
