• 2 cups Flour
• ¼ tsp Salt
• 2 cups Sugar
• 5 TBSP Cocoa
• 1 cup Butter
• 1 cup Water, boiling
• ½ cup Buttermilk
• 2 lg eggs, beaten
• 1 tsp Baking Soda
• 1 tsp Vanilla

FROSTING
• ½ cup Pecans, finely chopped
• ¾ cup plus 2 tsp Butter
• 5 TBSP Cocoa
• 1 tsp Vanilla
• 6 TBSP Milk
• 4 cups Powdered Sugar, Sifted (3 ½ cups unsifted)

**Preheat Oven to 350°
INSTRUCTIONS
• Combine flour, sugar, and salt.
• Melt butter in a saucepan, stir in cocoa. Add boiling water, and allow to boil for 30 seconds. Remove from heat and pour over flour mixture, stirring lightly as it cools.
• In a small bowl, combine buttermilk, beaten eggs, baking soda, and vanilla. Add this mixture to the chocolate mixture, then pour it all into a prepared sheet cake pan.
• Bake for 25 minutes, (toothpick test), at 350°.
• While cake is baking, make the frosting: Melt butter in a saucepan. Add cocoa and remove from heat. Stir in milk, vanilla, and sifted powdered sugar. Stir in pecans and pour over the warm cake.
