It is hard to put into words how I feel about Reflections. It has been a part of my life for so many years and I have been so blessed by it in so many ways. I never had any vocal training at all before I started singing with ward choirs after I was married. A funny thing about Beth and I is we lived in the same wards while I was growing up and again after I first got married. I kind of followed her around and I still do! Camille tried to get me to join for several years, but with all my young children I felt overwhelmed by the idea then. I really wanted to, but didn't think I could audition and make it! Finally she prevailed and I tried. No one was more surprised than myself that I made it. Since that time I have been blessed in many ways. Let me just name a few.
1. The sisterhood in Reflections is something that has blessed my life so much. It is so good to come each week and have that time with wonderful ladies who have the same values, hopes, dreams and faith that I have. It strengthens me and helps me make it through times in my life when I have felt overwhelmed, frightened, discouraged, lonely, sad, happy, proud and just plain me!
2. I have said that I follow Beth around and she is a big part of my love of Reflections. She has always been an example to me and has helped me so much in my music and in my personal life. She has taught me so many things as I watch and listen and learn from her. Her imprint on my heart is huge!
3. Reflections has helped my faith to grow. There has never been a stronger group of ladies and I have felt their spirit in my life. I know that they pray for me and would do anything for me if I asked. After my accident I felt their prayers so strongly and I attribute my full recovery to them and their faith and prayers.
4. I have been blessed to go to numerous Care Centers and Assisted Living Centers and feel the spirit of those who reside there. I feel this has lifted me so many times in my life. When we had to put my mother in a Care Center, it had helped me so much to have had those experiences and to feel that I could be there with mom and not feel uncomfortable or out of place.
5. I feel so blessed to have learned so much about music! I love music and this has helped me so much to have been taught by one of the great teachers! I am so thankful for all of the lessons that have helped me in my life. When I sang in General Conference, it was so nice to have that background or I would not have been able to do it.
