6 slices bread
6 eggs, beaten
1 lb sausage
2 cups half & half
1 ½ cups grated cheddar cheese
1 small can green chilies (optional)
1 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Remove crusts from bread; spread with butter. Place in a buttered 3 quart casserole dish. Cook sausage until brown, stirring to crumble; drain well. Spoon over bread slices; sprinkle with cheese. Combine eggs, milk, chilies, and salt; mix well and pour over cheese. Cover casserole and chill overnight. Remove from refrigerator 15 minutes before baking. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until set.


This is good for Christmas morning.
