Cake:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
4 egg yolks
4 Tablespoons milk
1/2 cup plus 2 Tablespoons self-rising flour

Meringue Topping:
4 egg whites
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup chopped nuts

Pineapple Filling:
1 cup whipping cream
1-1/2 Tablespoons powdered sugar
1 cup crushed pineapple, drained well
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Cake:
Mix all ingredients thoroughly and pour into two layer cake pans. Batter will be shallow.

Meringue Topping:
Beat egg whites, adding sugar slowly. Beat until mixture will hold peaks. Spread this over the mix in cake pans. Sprinkle nuts over top and bake 20-25 minutes at 325. Allow to cool, then remove from pans. Place one layer, meringue side down on platter.

Pineapple Filling:
Whip cream, add sugar, pineapple and vanilla. Spread on top of first layer. Place other layer with meringue side up on top.

Slice and serve.
