½ cup butter or margarine

12 slices white bread, cut into bite size pieces

1 cup brown sugar (may reduce the amount of sugar used to ⅔ cup)

1 tsp cinnamon

5-6 eggs

1½ cups milk

Directions:
Directions:
1. Melt butter/margarine in a 9x13 baking pan.

2. Cover bottom of pan with 1/2 the bread pieces

3. In a bowl mix 1 cup brown sugar with 1 tsp cinnamon.

4. Sprinkle ½ of the sugar mixture over the bread.

5. Add another layer of bread pieces with the remaining bread.

6. In a bowl, whisk eggs with milk until well blended.

7. Pour over bread layers.

8. Sprinkle remaining sugar mixture over the egg soaked bread.

9. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

10. Bake covered at 350ºF for 30 minutes.

11. Uncover and continue baking 15 minutes or until set and browned.

12. Sprinkle with confectionery sugar and serve with fruit and/or maple syrup.
