Ingredients:  
Ingredients:  
3-4 cups fresh, shelled peas from the garden
3-4 cups little new potatoes, washed and scrubbed.(peels on)
salt and pepper to taste
water to cover the vegetables
about 3/4 cup milk
dollop of butter

Directions:
Directions:
Boil shelled peas and new potatoes in water enough to cover....until cooked...
Do not drain water off.
Add salt, pepper, a dollop of butter.
Turn off burner and add approximately 3/4 cup milk
Add a bit of butter..
Serve hot...
You can also make this recipe with frozen peas and any potatoes...(peeled or not)
It's extra-good in the wintertime, when the weather is cold...

A childhood summertime tradition. When the peas were ready to shell, dad would dig a hill or two of new potatoes, getting the little ones for use and keeping the bigger ones .... Then we left the potatoes to grow til their 'due season'...
