8 oz can crushed pineapple
½ c brown sugar
⅓ c shortening
½ c sugar
1¼ tsp powder
3 Tbsp butter
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 c flour
1 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Drain the pineapple, reserving syrup. Melt butter in 8 x 8 inch pan. Arrange pineapple in bottom of pan. Cream together sugar and shortening until smooth. Add egg and vanilla; beat until fluffy. Sift dry ingredients. Alternately add the dry ingredients and a ½ cup reserved juice to the sugar cream mixture, beat after each addition. Pour over pineapple. Bake at 350º for 40-50 minutes. Cool.
