2 3/4 cup flour
2 1/2 teaspoon baking power
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup shortening
2 1/4 cup brown sugar
3 eggs
1 cup chopped nuts
1 package chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
In a saucepan, melt shortening over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar. Cool slightly.
Add eggs 1 at a time, beating after each egg
Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add gradually to shortening mixture.
Stir in the vanilla, chips and nuts (batter will be very stiff).
Pour into greased 9x13 pan bake at 350 for 25 - 30 minutes
Let cool for a while; cut into squares while warm
