2 cups sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup margarine or butter
3 T cocoa
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups oatmeal (quick or old fashioned)
1 cup coconut
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup raisins (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the sugar, milk, margarine, cocoa and salt together in a saucepan and bring to a boil, heating thoroughly and clear through. Remove from heat and add the remaining ingredients and coat well. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper with a dishtowel or cloth underneath. Let set and cool. This recipe is from Jill Fenton, my sister who lives in Alaska. It was also in the Parkinson Family Cookbook.
