Ingredients:  
1 cup shredded coconut (may need a little more coconut)
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 tablespoon butter
up to 1/2 cup of flour to thicken
baked pie crust

Directions:
Directions:
Add all ingredients except flour to sauce pan
cook on medium low heat - always stirring to prevent sticking to bottom of sauce pan
Taste to see is anything needs to be added
add small amounts to flour until thicken
pour in baked pie crust and enjoy

Fran said Memaw made chocolate pie using this recipe - add cocoa or unsweetened chocolate

Memaw Allen made the very best coconut pies. I wish I would have been older before she went home to God and got this recipe and others but I didn't. I asked Aunt Fran for the recipe and she did gave me this from memory. No one measured things then (I still do not measure for most part) so hopefully I got close enough that all of you can enjoy Memaw's pie - mine and Pop's favorite pie.
