1/2 cup shortening, margarine or butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs, well beaten
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp soda
4 T sour or sweet milk
1 cup ripe banana pulp
1 cup nuts, chopped
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening (margarine) and sugar. Add vanilla and eggs. Beat until creamy. Add sifted flour with soda and salt, alternately with milk and banana pulp. Add nuts last. Pour into two regular sized bread pans that have been greased and floured, or you may want to line the pans with wax paper and then grease the paper. You may also use four small bread pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. This recipe is from Ruth Halterman, Rexburg, ID. It was in the Rexburg Eighteenth Ward Cookbook.
