1 c light brown sugar, packed
¼ c cornstarch
½ tsp salt
2⅔ c milk
⅓ c butter
3 egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla
1 already cooked pie shell

Meringue:
3 egg whites
⅓ c sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix brown sugar, salt, milk, butter, and corn starch together. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils, boil 1 minute. Remove from heat, gradually stir in half of hot mixture into egg yolks, then return all to rest of hot mixture. Add vanilla. Pour into already prepared pie shell. Meringue-beat egg whites, adding sugar, beat until stiff peaks form. Top pie; place in oven until meringue browns.
