- 2 tbsp. of melted butter
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup of sugar
- ¼ cup of milk
- 1 cup of flour
- ¼ tsp. of nutmeg
- ½ tsp. of cinnamon
- 1 tsp. of vanilla extract
- 3 tsp. of lemon zest
- 3 tsp. of baking soda

Ingredients for the syrup:
- 2 cups of maple syrup
- 1 cup of water

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix all the dry ingredients.
2. Whip the eggs with the sugar.
3. Add the melted butter, the milk, the vanilla extract, and the lemon zest to the egg mix.
4. Mix dry ingredients with the egg mix until well blended.
5. Boil the maple syrup and the water together for 10 minutes while stirring.
6. Put the syrup in an oven resistant pan and pour the cake mix on top.
7. Bake at 350º F for 45 minutes.
