1½ cups butter
2 pkg (8oz size) corn bread stuffing mix
1½ pt fresh oysters, or 3 cans (7oz size) frozen oysters, thawed
½ cup each: chopped onion
green pepper
celery
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. dried rosemary leaves
¼ tsp. pepper

Directions:

1. In 6 quart kettle, heat 1 cup water and 1 cup butter, to melt butter. Remove from heat , toss with stuffing mix.

2. Drain oysters cut in half. Melt ½ cup butter in medium skillet, saute oysters, onions, green pepper and celery for 5 minutes. Add to stuffing, toss lightly to mix well.

This recipe was Grandma Helen Allgood's masterpiece. She prepared this special for Mom and Barry every Thanksgiving. They always felt special because Grandma made it just for them and they would eat it until they could eat no more! After Grandma passed, Mom used this recipe to continue the tradition.
