3 egg whites
One cup broken pecans

Directions:
Beat the egg whites until stiff but not dry. Cook the sugar, karo and water until it spins a thread (230-234º) on a candy thermometer. Pour half of the hot mixture slowly over the beaten egg whites, beating constantly. Mix thoroughly. Cook the rest of the syrup to the hard crack stage (290-300º). Pour this slowly over the egg whites, beating constantly. Continue beating until the mixture will hold a peak. Add nuts. Pour into a greased pan. Let cool and cut into squares. Makes 40-50 pieces.

If you prefer, this may be dropped by spoonfull onto wax paper or a greased cookies sheet. When you do this, you can swirl the top of each piece.
