boiled chicken
3 cupw all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
½ cup cooking oil
cold water

Directions:
Directions:
Boil chicken add salt and pepper. Remove chicken from broth. Separately, mix flour, soda, cooking oil, and salt. Add cold water a tablespoon at a time until mixture is sticky (not too thin). Roll on floured board a piece at a time about the size of a teacup. Cut into strips 3-4 inch long. Drop into boiling broth which has a ½ stick of butter and black pepper added. DO NOT STIR. After you have all the dumplings in the pot, let boil for five minutes. Add 2 cups of milk. Ready to eat.

Mardell made delicious Chicken and Dumplings. She said the only time she ever heard mother yell was at when her mom's stepmother, who was her age, stirred the dumplings!
