Directions:Grandma didn't give much instruction in her written recipe other than to combine and let set for 30 minutes covered.
This is what she wrote: "Suzie, they have to be rolled very thin. Cut them in sections and twist them into bows or anything. Then fry them and let them drain onto a broken open paper bag. Sprinkle them with confectioners sugar. Enjoy! If you don't have a pasta machine to roll them thin, roll them into strips, like spaghetti size and cut them about 3 inches each then twist. This recipe will fill a big tray like for a wedding or some other big function. Just make this recipe in half if you think it will be too much." |

Notes: Grandma made this recipe at my wedding and we passed them around on a pretty tray for our guests to enjoy. I didn't try to make these until many years later and they turned out terrible. It's a practiced art and I certainly didn't appreciate all the work that went into making them at the time!
