Lighter Macaroni and Cheese Recipe

6 oz. tricolor corkscrew macaroni
cup chopped onion
1 tbsp. water
2 cups skim milk
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
⅛ tsp. pepper
1 cup cubed american cheese
2 tbsp grated paresan cheese

1. Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain.
2. In large sauce pan cook onions, covered in water for about 1 minute until tender.
3. Stir together milk, cornstarch, Worcestershire sauce and pepper and then add to onions (item 2)
4. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly.
5. Add cubed american cheese and stir till melted.
6. Remove from heat and stir cooked macaroni into cheese mixture.
7. Turn into a 1 qt. casserole dish.
8. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
9. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes, till heated thoroughly.
