1 ½ lbs round steak or sirloin cut into strips
¼ cup hot shortening or oil
1 clove garlic, minced
2 cups canned tomatoes
1 cup water
1 cup green pepper, diced
1 cup onion, diced
½ cup celery
2 Tbsp plus 1 tsp cornstarch
¼ cup water
6 Tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
¼ tsp pepper
¼ tsp garlic minced

Directions:
Directions:
Brown meat in shortening in large skillet or electric fry pan. Add minced clove garlic. Add tomatoes and 1 cup water to meat and simmer over low heat 30 minutes. Add diced vegetables; cook 15 minutes. Combine cornstarch with ¼ cup water. Add to meat-vegetable mixture. Add last 4 ingredients and eat through. Spoon over mounds of rice
