1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
1 c shortening
1½ c sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2¾ c flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ salt
2 tsp cream of tarter

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar and cinnamon in small mixing bowel, and set aside. Cream shortening; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs; beat well. Stir in vanilla, Sift together flour, soda, salt, cream of tartar. Add to creamed mixture; mix well. Shape dough into 1 inch balls, and roll in reserved sugar mixture. Place 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 400º for 6 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
