1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp, baking powder
¼ tsp. baking soda
¾ tsp. salt
⅓ s cup shortening
⅔ cup sugar
1 cup mashed ripe bananas (2 or 3)
½ cup finely chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Grease an & 4 x 2 in loaf pan well.
Sift flour measure and reshift 3 times with baking powder

Cream shortening and sugar in a 3 quart mixing bowl until smuoth and tlutty.
Add eggs one at a time and beat well alter each addition
Stir in freshly mashed banana and nuts.
Add flour in four portions and beat until smooth after each addition.
Turn into prepared pan and bake in oven at 350 for 50 minutes or until a cake tester inserted into center of bread comes out clean.
Remove and place on cooling rack. Let cool before slicing loaf.
