¾ C Shortening
¾ C Sugar
½ C Molasses
1 Egg
2 ¼ C Sifted Flour
1½ tsp. Baking Soda
1⅓ tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. Ginger
¼ tsp Salt
⅛ tsp. Ground Cloves (Add a dash more for a bit more flavor)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening and sugar. Add molasses and egg, mix well. Sift in remaining ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Place in freezer for 1 hour or chill in refrigerator for 2 hours.

Form into balls and roll in sugar.

Bake for 10 minutes at 375 F.
