1 onion diced
2 large cans chicken broth
4 cans cut green beans
7 red potatoes cubed
1 stick real butter
2 pints cream
8 strips bacon (cut-up)
salt and pepper to taste
6 eggs and enough flour to make stiff dough (12 eggs with large batch)

Directions:
Directions:
In large dutch oven saute onions and bacon. Add chicken broth and bring to a boil. Then add beans, diced potatoes, and drop in dumplings by the teaspoon. When potatoes and dumplings are done, turn off and add cream and butter. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer. Enjoy! (If soup gets too thick after adding dumplings, add 2 cups or more of chicken broth.)

This is a Volga German Favorite! Good soup for potlucks and church gatherings. It makes plenty.
