½ cup shortening
½ cup butter
1 ¾ cup sifted powdered sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
¼ tsp almond extract
2 ½ cup flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 cup pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and butter; gradually add powdered sugar, cream well. Add egg and flavorings. Beat until fluffy. sift flour with soda and cream of tartar, add and mix well. Shape into balls and roll in powdered sugar. Bake at 400º.
