Amish Sugar Cookies

1 cup white sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup margarine
1 cup oil
2 eggs
4 ½ cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp vanilla
decorative sugars (optional)

Preheat oven to 350°. Mix all ingredients. Drop by small balls and flatten with fork. Sprinkle with colored sugars or sprinkles, if desired. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden.

1 ⅓ cup margarine, softened
1 ½ cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
3 Tbsp milk
4 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt

Directions:
Cream butter, sugar, and vanilla. Add eggs, beat until light and fluffy. Stir in milk. Combine dry ingredients and blend into mixture with a spoon. Chill 1 hour. Preheat oven to 375°. Roll to ¼ inch thick and cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters. Bake on a greased cookie sheet for 7 minutes. Do not over bake or roll too thin.
 

Crispy Rolled Sugar Cookies

½ cup margarine
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 Tbsp cream or milk
1 ¾ cups flour
½ tsp vanilla
½ tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder

Directions:
Combine all ingredients, mixing well. Chill dough thoroughly; roll to ¼ inch and cut into desired shapes. Bake in a 350° oven until golden brown.
