Oatmeal Cake Recipe

1 cup boiling water
1 cup quick oats
1 stick butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp baking soda
tsp salt
tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
2 eggs
1 ⅓ cups flour

6 Tbsp butter
1 cup chopped nuts
cup sugar
cup evaporated milk or cream
1 cup sweetened coconut

Pour boiling water over quick oats. Add butter; cover and let stand 20 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and blend well. Bake in a 9x13 pan at 350 for 35 minutes. While cake is baking, combine topping ingredients. Spread on hot cake and place under broiler until golden.
