Ingredients: - 3 1/2 tbsp soy sauce, low sodium - 3 tbsp brown sugar - 2 tbsp rice vinegar - 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced - 1 tbsp garlic, minced - 1/2 cup BBQ sauce - 1/2 cup pineapple juice - 2 tbsp smoked paprika - 1 tsp crushed red pepper

Directions:1) Combine all ingredients into a sauce pot and simmer for about 20 minutes until sauce has slightly thickened. |

Notes: Let the sauce cool before storing in an airtight container for 1 week. You can also freeze for up to 1 month. If you freeze it then thaw in the fridge for two days and reheat in a sauce pot.
This sauce should be used as a condiment on its own or a marinade for grilled meats. Do not sautee with this sauce because the sugars will burn before the meat is cooked. However, you can bake your protein with the sauce, but you will end up with a thin sauce as the protein will leach natural juices out. Finishing sauce and/or grilling is recommended. Garnish with sliced scallion.
