⅔ c. Butter or Margarine
1 c. Brown Sugar
1 c. Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
1½ c. All-Purpose Flour
2 tsp. Baking Powder
¼ tsp. Salt
1 c. Chopped Apple (cored and peeled)
1 c. Chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Mix together Butter, Sugar, Brown Sugar, Eggs and Vanilla Extract. In a separate bowl mix together Flour, Baking Powder and Salt. Slowly mix together wet and dry ingredients. Add chopped apples (and nuts if desired) mixing thoroughly. Spread batter into a greased 9x9 baking dish or pan. Bake 35-40 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

Serve warm with a little Vanilla Ice Cream or let cool. They are great either way.

So quick story. My family and I went apple picking one day and got a little carried away. By the time we left we had 6 plastic bags full of apples and no real plan of what to do with them. Along with Apple Sauce, Apple Butter and Apple Pies we made tons of these brownies.
