Ingredients:
Ingredients:
4 cups water
1/2 cup pitted prunes
1/2 cup raisin
1/2 cup sliced dried apple
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup sliced dried apricot
1/4 cup sliced dried peach
1 slice lemon
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon or stick
1 tablespoon cornstarch
milk
cream (or cream of wheat is nice!)

Directions:
Directions:
In saucepan, combine 3-1/2 cups (875 mL) of the water, prunes, raisins, apples, sugar, apricots, peaches, lemon and cinnamon. Bring to boil; cover and reduce heat to low, simmering for 10 to 15 minutes or until fruit is tender but still intact.

Blend cornstarch into remaining water; stir into fruit mixture, increase heat to medium and simmer for about 5 minutes longer or until liquid thickens and clears. Taste and adjust flavours. Remove lemon slice and cinnamon stick if using. Serve hot or chilled with milk or cream (if using). Or make some cream of wheat cereal (really!) and put a 1/4 cup in each bowl of fruit soup. (Soup can be stored, covered, in refrigerator for up to 3 days.)

Personal Notes:
I first tasted Pluma Moos in Ontario's Mennonite country. I was newly married, and we went to attend the Young Life National Board Meeting. We stayed at Vern and Frieda Heinrich's lovely home and she made this special dessert for us. I had to bring the recipe home and serve it at Christmas!
