1 cup of Sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup Swans Down Flour
1 cup of chopped Walnuts
1 cup chopped dates
1 teaspoon vanilla
Powdered sugar to roll cookies in.

Directions:
Directions:
I need to start with this - separate your eggs. The yolks in a bowl and whites in another.

Beat eggs yolks & add sugar, vanilla, nuts, dates & flour.
Beat egg whites until stiff
Flour should be sifted with bkg. powder cut & folded in the stiffly beaten egg whites.

Bake in a shallow pan in a moderate oven about 350 degrees for about 40 minutes. Cut bars & roll in powdered sugar while warm.
