Ingredients:
About 12 Macintosh apples
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. flour
1 t. cinnamon
butter

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare a double crust first. Put it in the refrigerator in a plastic bag until you're ready to roll it out.

Apple filling: Use the pie pan you intend to bake the pie in and slice the peeled apples right into the pan. You'll have exactly the right amount of apples!

Toss the apples with the sugars, flour and cinnamon in a large bowl. Let it sit while you get the crust into the pan. Pour the apples into the crust. Dot with butter. Add the top crust and flute the edges with a fork or by squeezing it between your thumb and index finger about every inch around. Trim off any over-hanging crust with a paring knife. Make a few cuts in the top for venting. Put pie on a cookie sheet to prevent spills and bake at 400 for about 40 minutes. It should be golden brown.

I know.......everyone says Mcintosh apples aren't good for baking. But the same people will bite into my pie and say how good it is. I'm sticking with my Macs!
