1 20 ounce bag of dry 15 beans or the Cajun version will work as well.
1 cup of fresh onions chopped
1 14.5 ounce can of diced tomatoes
1 16 ounce bag of frozen mixed vegetables with okra (okra is important to give the soup its consistency)
1 tsp. chili powder
The juice of one lemon
1 small can of mushrooms
2 cloves of garlic minced
2 bay leaves
4 14 ounce cans beef stock
2 tbsp of black pepper
2 tbsp of salt
2 tbsp of season salt
½ tsp garlic salt
6 pieces of hog jowl
2 large chicken bouillon cubes
2 16 ounce cans of sliced potatoes
3 tbsp of Crisco or bacon drippings
½ stick of butter
½ pound of small diced beef
1½ pound of ground hamburger meat
¼ pound of ground pork
¼ pound of small diced chicken
¼ pound of smoked sausage or Conecuh sausage
1 6 ounce can of tiny shrimp

Directions:
Directions:
1. Soak the beans overnight by placing it a large boiler and covering in cool tap water until the beans are covered by more than three inches.
2. Sauté’ the hamburger meat, diced beef and ground pork in a large skillet with ½ cup onions until meat is no longer pink.
3. Separately sauté the chicken and smoked sausage with the remaining onions until chicken is no longer pink.
4. Combine all other ingredients in to a large boiler with 2 32 ounce containers of beef broth and 4 cups of water. Bring to a rapid boil. Let boil for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. After 10 minutes, reduce heat to medium for an hour, or until the okra is broken down.
5. Prior to serving, bring back to a boil and add the tiny can of shrimp. Let boil for 5 more minutes and reduce heat.

Makes enough for 14 servings or enough to freeze for later!
