8 to 10 slices day old French Bread (1 inch thick)
5 Tbsp butter or margarine, melted
4 eggs
3 c milk
1 c whipping cream
½ c sugar
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
Confectioners sugar optional

Directions:
Directions:
1. Brush both sides of bread with butter; place in a greased 9x13 baking dish.
2. In a large bowl, beat eggs and yolks.
3. Add milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, and nutmeg and mix well.
4. Pour mixture over the bread.
5. Cover and chill overnight.

To bake:
1. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking.
2. Preheat oven to 350º.
3. Bake uncovered for 55-60 minutes or until knife inserted in middle comes out clean.
4. Cool 10 minutes before serving.
5. Dust with confectioners sugar if desired.
