⅓ cup poppy seeds
1 tsp grated orange peel
1 cup granulated sugar
tsp almond extract
1 cups all-purpose flour
tsp ground nutmeg
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
tsp salt
1 egg yolk

Directions:
Directions:
In a medium mixing bowl, combine sugar, orange peel, extract, and egg yolk and beat until light. Add butter and beat until fluffy. Combine remaining ingredients and stir into butter mixture. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill 6 hours or overnight.
Preheat the oven to 350. On a lightly floured surface, use a floured rolling pin to roll out dough to " thickness. Cut out dough using a 2" round cookie cutter. Place cookies on ungreased baking sheets and bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned. Remove from pans and cool on wire racks. Store in airtight container.
