Cake:
4 cup plain flour
½ tsp baking powder
5 eggs
½ tsp salt
3 cup sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
3 sticks margarine
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup sweet milk

Lemon Icing:
2 lemons
1 stick margarine
2 cup confectioner sugar
pinch of salt

Directions:

Cake:
Cream margarine and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Sift dry ingredients together and mix alternately with milk. Start in cold oven and bake about 1 hour and 45 minutes or until done at 325°. Remove from pan and cover with lemon icing while cake is still hot.

Icing:
Grate the lemons using juice and rind. Cream the margarine. Add sugar and salt. Mix well and spoon over the cake while hot.

Wonderful. Had to go in this book. She made this for Big Mama’s birthday every year. Sadie loved Big Mama and Big Mama loved this lemon pound cake.
