3 1/2 to 4 C sifted flour
4 t baking power
1/2 t salt
1 t nutmeg
2 eggs
1 C sugar
1 C milk
2 T melted shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg.
Beat eggs and add sugar
Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk blending well after each addition
Stir in melted shorting
CHILL DOUGH FOR 2 HOURS

Turn onto lightly floured board
Roll out 1/3 inch thick
Cut with floured cutter (keep cutter floured.
Fry a few at a time in deep hot fat or Crisco (375) turning when underside is brown
Drain on un-glazed paper (paper bag)
Dip into granulated sugar.
