2/3 cup(s) cracker crumbs, finely crushed (soda crackers or cheese crackers work best)
1 cup(s) milk
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 pound(s) lean ground beef
1/2 cup(s) onion, chopped
1 teaspoon(s) salt
1/2-3/4 teaspoon(s) ground sage
dash pepper
1/2 cup(s) brown sugar
1/2 cup(s) ketchup

Directions:
Directions:
Soak cracker crumbs in milk; add meat, eggs, onion and seasonings. Mix well. Shape into loaf in shallow baking pan.

Mix together the brown sugar and ketchup. Spread over loaf.

Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes.

My family grew up on this recipe and it was one of the first dishes I made for my husband when we were dating. This recipe was featured in Taste of Home magazine and I love sharing one of my mom's best!
