Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 cups canned pineapple tidbits (in heavy syrup), undrained
1 10 oz. bag whole marshmallows, cut in pieces
1 cup nut meats
1 cup grapes, cut in half

Walnut halves and maraschino cherries for garnish.

Dressing:
4 eggs yolks
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
8 oz. carton Cool Whip

Directions:
Directions:
To prepare the dressing: In a double boiler (or a heavy saucepan-cook on low), bring to a boil the egg yolks, lemon juice and cream until thick, stirring constantly; cool. Put Cool Whip in a mixing bowl and fold in the thoroughly cooled dressing. In a medium bowl, mix together the undrained pineapple, marshmallows, nuts and halved grapes. Fold the cooled dressing mixture into the pineapple mixture. Chill at least 24 hours in a pretty glass bowl. (As this chills it will set up - the marshmallows will soak up the liquid.) Garnish with walnut halves and maraschino cherries.

Personal Notes:
This recipe has been adapted. The original recipe had whipped cream. After my parents quit milking, the cream came from the Kjarvik's - Verna's in-laws. Mom used homegrown black walnuts. This was served only on Christmas as far back as I remember - since 1940. MAH
