2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup shortening
1 egg yolk, beaten
5 cups apples
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons flour

Frostening
2 tablespoons soft butter
2 tablespoons milk
1 cup powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix first 3 ingredients like pie crust. Beat egg yolk then slowly add 1/2 cup milk. Add to pie crust and mix and shape into a ball. Divide in half. Press 1/2 into bottom of 9x13 pan. Spread Apple mixture on top of crust. Roll out other half of pie crust and lay on top of apples. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes. While still warm top with powdered sugar frosting.

Mom would make these often in the fall. It became a favorite recipe that I make often. The picture is of Travis and I on his graduation day from high school in 2001.
